Cultural Attractions

Mexico is one of the most culturally rich countries on the planet. Chateau Wright is located on the edge of Cuernavaca and Tepoztlan (often referred to as a “pueblo mágico” (magical town), making many attractions close by. While we encourage any guests to do their own research to find the activities most suited to their interests, here are a few that shouldn’t be missed.

Las Estacas

nature park is located thirty minutes away in Tepoztlan and offers freshwater snorkeling, zip-lining, kayaking, camping, and kiddie pools.

El Tepozteco National Park

is an archaeological site located in the heart of Tepoztlán.  It consists of a small temple to Tepoztēcatl, the Aztec god of the alcoholic beverage pulque.  The views at the top of the temple are breathtaking and Instagram worth,  but a word of warning— there are LOTS of stairs and the altitude can make it a strenuous trip up for some.   For those that don’t want to hike to the top, there are also many small, wonderful restaurants at the base of the temple for breakfast or lunch.

Archaeological Zone of Xochicalco

was the oldest known fortress in Middle America and is an example of a political, religious, and commercial center.
